1-3 June 2007, Pune, India.
The Alumni Association of Sancheti Institute and Sushrut
Learning Centre, an initiative of the Sushrut Group joined hands to
organise the first combined course (Basic & Advanced) in Pune. Prof. U.
Holz from Germany who was the Course Chairman made the course an
unforgettable learning experience for the delegates.
The 2 events ran concurrently between the 1st and 3rd of June, 2007 at
Pune, India.
THE BASIC
FRACTURE FIXATION COURSE was targeted towards junior orthopaedic surgeons and concentrated on
fundamental concepts and fracture fixation principles with a number of
hands on workshops on various techniques. Senior faculty members
including Prof. G.S Kulkarni, Prof. Rajgopal, Dr. Dudhani, Dr. Jog, Dr.
Bhide, Dr. Bhagali, Dr. Arora, Dr. Khadilkar, Dr. Vikas Agashe and
others shared their knowledge and skills with participating delegates.
THE ADVANCE
FRACTURE FIXATION COURSE
focused on pelvi-acetabular trauma, spine and difficult hand fractures.
Noted faculty included Prof. U. Holz, Germany, Prof. Sen from PGI,
Chandigarh, Dr. Parag Sancheti from SIOR, Pune, spine surgeons Dr. Ram
Chaddha and Dr. Sanjay Dhar from Mumbai and Dr. Sudhir Warrier, noted
hand and microvascular surgeon from Mumbai.
As an Indian first, noted international faculty and teacher,

U. HOLZ from
GERMANY, as Course Chairman, contributed his
wealth of experience towards teaching and training of Indian orthopaedic
surgeons in a completely ‘Indian’ course.
This event saw 130 delegates from various parts of the country
enthusiastically participating in the courses and benefiting from the
experiences of the faculty members.
Prof. U. Holz has kindly consented to be Course Director for future
courses. The Alumni Association of Sancheti Institute and Sushrut
Learning Centre believe that his extensive international experience in
the field of orthopaedic teaching and training will be an invaluable
asset in the process of course and content design and execution.
The Alumni Association of Sancheti Institute and Sushrut Learning Centre
plan to hold this course on a annual basis. We believe that with the
help of overseas and national faculty this course will be invaluable for
imparting current knowledge and latest techniques in fracture fixation
surgery.
