JOG Hospital is well known for their annual training program on
orthopedics better known as “JOINTS” (Jog Hospital's Orthopaedic
Interactive Training Seminar).
As was the case last year, the hands-on training workshops of JOINTS
were organized at SLC (Sushrut Learning Centre),
Sushrut’s initiative in facilitating knowledge sharing in orthopedics.
Faculty members including Dr.Anand Thakur, Dr.Parag Bhide, Dr.Sandeep Patwardhan, Dr. Chetan Pradhan
and Mr.Ravi Sarangapani of Sushrut shared important concepts with post
graduate exam-going orthopaedic students. |

Course content included the history and evolution of fracture fixation
implants and intramedullary devices, basic principles and methods of
treatment of fracture and biomechanics of bones. |

Course Participants not only benefited from the
experience of the senior faculty, but also had a hands-on opportunity
using SLC workshop instruments and bone models.Focus on topics like bio-mechanics of bones and different types of
fractures, the history and evolution of implants like plates, screws and intramedullary nails, the issues in surgery and their workarounds, best
practices & techniques in fracture fixation, advances in implant designs
etc along with a hands on exposure to fracture fixation, resulted in a
comprehensive knowledge sharing from seasoned professionals to the
participants. |
